Charming Earl Small RoOster Review
This toy is like crack cocaine for dogs. My dog knows the word "Earl" and will start dancing around once I say it. When she has this toy, she is completely oblivious to the world around her. When I want her to be quiet, I take Earl away and sit him on a bookshelf. She will sit and stare at him, with her lower lip quivering, for at least 15-20 minutes before giving up.
The only reason I give Earl four stars is that this toy is not as durable as it could be. I'm on my second one. I let my dog play unsupervised with the first one and she promptly decapitated it and pulled all the cotton out from the inside (she's a small dog, too).

First the pros - the material with which these dog toys are made is very thick and quite durable. The hand painted features are beautifully done.
Now the con - on Earl the Chick Magnet, the noise making devise is located in the crotch area - easily accessible. Lasted 10 minutes. We also purchased Captain Buzz - that noise maker is in the neck, which is long enough for firm gripping between the teeth for a righteous (and almost immediate) kill of Ole Buzz. My dogs still play with the toys, and they've held up to quite a bit of tugging. Really wish the squeakers would have been more durable. The dogs (Cairn terriers) were being supervised, but still managed to kill the squeakers. Although I must say, we were laughing so hard ...

We just call him "Earl". We're on about the third one, but goes a long way to watch our Basset Hound continually carry it around. With tons of toys to play with, this is his buddy.
